Actually, that is the method that should always be used. It shows no favoritism, nor 'clubbing'. They all earned it through 2 full seasons of play....why would they not get their just rewards?
I would take myself out though, if in that line, and having the honor** of being named captain. Even if #1.
** JMO, but I do not think this was an 'honor' that KB got ....being named captain. I think it was just another ass-jerking, like '23, to see how he responds with his 6 choices. I do not think it was a 'we're sorry 'bout that KB, you can be captain this time'.
He should show them.....jump all that have played in any of the past RCs, and take all newbies!!
After all, they are not his friends. That was proven in '23.
