Do u throw your cart trash out?

Drive cart question. Do you throw out your trash ie beer cans, food wrappers, water bottles, coffee cups before you return your golf cart or do you leave all the shit in it, just walk away and make somebody else clean it out?

At our place I make people throw out their trash. Your Mom doesn’t work here AND you return the cart looking like it did when you got it.

The scramble I was in yesterday, first off they needed outside staff to tell people where to park carts but the amount of trash in them.. I just don’t see how a person can leave a cart like that.

What do you guys do?

Typhoon It depends, same answer I have with carts at the grocery store. If the place has people there and they have their hand out all the time, I'll pay to have them clean the carts. If the cart return has a trash can, I'll do take it put, if not, I'll dump ion my car and take it home.

My 3 mile loop for litter patrol, I cross 4 places where golfers cross the street to the next tee and typically pick up trash, balls, & tees at each one. Golfers can be lazy.

I usually toss my stuff. Sometimes one of the high school kids working for the course will meet me where I drop it back off and tell me they'll clean it out, but if no one does that I just throw whatever trash there is in the can that's usually right there at the cart drop. If nothing else, me cleaning it out makes it less likely that I'll leave something of value behind for the lost and found.

I return my grocery cart to the corral or the store too. At our place nobody tips anyway so there is no danger of that. And all the trash carts I saw yesterday there was zero money left on the steering wheel

I leave the cart as clean or cleaner than I found it. It's the right thing to do and the only way to keep me from losing shit.

And I return my shopping carts too. 😇

Well, it’s not like I ever left a cart a mess to begin with. But if there were empty ball sleeves, cans, etc. I left it because I wanted the course to continue hiring the local high schoolers who came to wash and clean the carts.

Always gave those kids a fiver. When they saw me coming to play, they would make sure I got the cart that was newer and faster than the others. 😉

PA-PLAYA Take a zip tie with you and we can get that cart cornering on 2 wheels! Most places I would think wash every cart before it goes out so you need the kids anyway… plus they’re the ones who put them away.

I was just amazed at the carts yesterday. Like I said, as people come in at our place we tell them to grab their trash and belongings. Some just fly in in the cart and jump out with crap everywhere. They say, oh, sorry, ok got it.

I don't do the typical drinking thing, never get anything to eat, mostly it's just a waste of money, so in that respect the only things that need to go are important and I should not be forgetting......keys, phone (s), rangefinder towel, and clubs...... occasionally water bottle or Gatorade will need to be pitched. I can't say that I throw it out everytime🤔....but I do walk 90+% of the time and is a non issue those rounds.

We generate little garbage when we play. What little we do have like a few drink cans go into the small trash bins located at each tee marker so when we get to the cart return the cart is already empty. I think most that leave trash in the cart are just ignorant and don't know any better and think cleaning the cart comes with the rental. Perhaps if the person at the course counter would just ask at check-in to please put cart trash in the cans after the round.
