My wife taught in Plano in the early '80's and was nuts then.

potbunker They tell me there used to be ranches and gravel roads between Plano and McKinney. Now it is wall to wall development. Both of those towns are 250K plus population. Same with Frisco next to Plano. I lived my life in a county of under 50K, now I live in one that’s 1.2 million, just some suburbs of Dallas.

Plano and Frisco are actually closing schools because of demographics, though.

I was up/over the old stomping grounds yesterday for a funeral....my uncle age 92 passed. He served in the army /Korean War so their was a military honors funeral. It was nice to see my uncles on my mom's side, as well as cousins. If @JoeHatesSnow you heard shots fired around 11:15 a.m., that was why!

Jumped up to Devils Head and played 18. Smooth sailing the whole round. Greens are better .... but #11 is still in disrepair. Shame as it's such a good par 3.

What a beautiful drive that is! Beats going 80 down the highway for 2 hours straight.

When transferred to Dallas (1983) and meeting new customers, I was always asked where I was from.

My response ....."Virginia"...........their response............."Another damn Yankee".

I tried this answer to being a damn Yankee..........."If I remember my history, Richmond, Virginia was the capitol of the Confederacy."

Their response..........."Well, I guess you are okay."

I later determined their definition of a damn Yankee was anyone from north of the Red River. (Border between Oklahoma and Texas.)

potbunker Yeah, as far as I can tell, you’re either from Texas or you’re not. Oklahoma is a gray zone.

I’m not saying they aren’t friendly, but Texans really do see Texas as a whole other country.
