That is an incentive, but it's just a matter of time until failure. My buddy that owns the only non-corparate golf shop in Fredericksburg HATES TM. Apparently their minimum inventory requirements and constant new model introductions is a pain in his rectum.

sdandrea1 They all have their minimum requirements, some worse than others. In our shop we have some Cobra and Callaway drivers. We sell nothing … we still have a couple brand new Epic Max drivers. The Cobra’s we send back. Also have had some of the same Cleveland stuff for a few years.

Balls are where it’s at. Every oem let’s anyone carry balls

Well, those are now $150 & under clubs, everywhere. How much are you trying to sell them for? Cobras are going for even less, under $135.

sdandrea1 Some around here have quit. There is 1 that does well, the better course in the area. Just got an email blast from them about their yearend sale next week. They get rid of it, not just 'price' it.

All the courses used to have a get-together in late Nov. where they all brought their equipment, new & used. Huge auditorium sized sale, really good pricing. But it's been a few years since they have had one.

Huge diff from pricing items and selling them(as you and I know). Which I suspect John's place is doing....only 'pricing'.

The pro at Pendleton Golf Club gave up years ago. His quote was "everybody comes in here, takes out my demo clubs, beats them to shit, turns them in and then buys the club on the Internet". 😂🤣. I was a guilty party in that practice.😎

sdandrea1 Our Pro does ok with clubs, but probably mainly due to members using pro shop credit from tournaments. He does give a decent deal on demo/used clubs and he'll even order from Cally PreOwned for us. I think he makes most of his money from selling clothing.

Typhoon At our place the pro makes a cut of what the shop sells so he's incentivized to carry stuff people want and get them to buy it.

He doesn't carry a lot of clubs, but we have demo days and he'll order TM, Cally, Titleist or Tour Edge stuff. He gave up trying to deal with Ping.

I think he does a good job trying different brands of shirts and sweatshirts that are less expensive than Footjoy, but still nice stuff. Every year he gets some nice sweatershirts from Ahead that even my girls like.

Many of us try to support the shop to some extent. Unless I have tons of pro shop credit I don't buy balls there, but I do get clothes and a demo club every so often. The salary the pro is paid isn't that great, but I think he makes up for it with the shop.

May want use a mirror to check for shoulder tilt (through the shot also). It is easy to get
slightly flatter in the stance and backswing and not notice.

Thinking of hitting 'down on the ball' can cause its own issues. JMO. 🏌

Oh you are correct. Can’t think of just hitting down on it. Something is causing me to be sweeping it more than I like. More than likely it’s in my set up. Off season… time to check the video

KCee We don’t have any tournaments where people win pro shop credit. Ping has too many rules for carrying their stuff. I think Cleveland, Xallaway amd Cobra are much more Lax.

products out of that shop immediately...Saw that happen back in Utah.

All of our tournaments are pro shop credit. There are also cash pools and gambling, but those are separate as we have a lot of degenerate gamblers. The pro shop credit is great for the pro because every player might pay $25 for the tournament and the pro shop takes 10% off the top and then pays out pro shop credit to winners. They now might buy an $80 shirt with their winnings and the pro shop makes another 20% or whatever. This is CT we put extra tax (maybe vig in this case) on everything 🤣

The same thing happened to a pro I worked for with Ping. His prices were so low that he had guys buying from him who were members at private clubs. Eventually the pros from those clubs complained, Ping made a “secret shopper” type phone call inquiring about a price, and eventually pulled his account !!!!
