My nephew (Joel Knight) is a " Titleist-certified" chiropractor (WTH that means?). He gets inside the ropes at events where one of his players is in the field. He's working with Larkin Gross (who probably won't make the cut). And, no, I don't get tickets, even though we're close.

Scottie Scheffler is handcuffed and off to jail. Tournament is delayed at least an hour.

Scheffler attempted to drive around what he thought was security (the cops were dressed in yellow rain coats) to enter Valhalla. Scheffler was driving a marked PGA Tournament vehicle.

There was an accident and traffic was backed up. Cops stopped Scheffler, obscenities flying and cuffed him. Seems like a case of unnecessary escalation by the cop. Scheffler told the cop he didn’t think he was a police officer.

An ESPN reporter was a witness. PGA officials tried to intervene, but were turned away. Not a good look for Louisville cops. World number one player in custody somewhere in Louisville.

Scottie has been released from custody. Should now make his tee time. The owner of Valhalla went to the police station and brought Scottie back to the course.

Looks like the police yellow rain jackets have "Police" on the back but no ID on the front on some of the jackets in small letters. In the dark and rain it would be easy to confuse them with course or traffic control personnel. Perhaps Scottie over reacted. Time will tell. If nothing else he apparently pissed the police off and being #1 didn't get him too far. Apparently he tried to get around traffic control and dragged an officer about 10 yards who was hanging onto the vehicle. One of his charges is assaulting an officer which is a felony. Not small potatoes. Police were investigating a nearby pedestrian fatality which caused the traffic backup.

I think what we're going to find is this is a case of the cop overreacting. One of the charges he is charged with is a felony. What seemed to have happened is there were police there because of the accident along with the normal security there to enter the course property.
