I worked in television for 43 years before retiring in 2019. Over the years a lot of celebrities have come through the TV station where I worked, and I didn’t pay too much attention to them. There was one guest however, that I had to have a picture taken with. He’s a HUGE star with a following of millions but with zero ego problems. So, here’s a picture of me with a world famous celebrity.

I worked for Holiday Inn for almost 24 years. Celebrities were a common site through the years, and had the chance to chat with some. Country stars, rock stars, WWE 'players'😉.
Funniest moment was when Howard Bellamy(Bellamy Brothers) came walking out to the pool area dressed in his robe.
And cowboy hat and boots!!🤣
Maybe not as funny as when the elevator we were on opened and some idiot stepped in, or rather tried to step in, drink in hand, spilling all over the carpet. He was so f'n loaded his buddy was holding him up, at 8:30 a.m. May have been early '94.

We really didn't and were not to bother them unless they requested something. Most would arrive early mornings and be in their rooms til show time that evening.

Supp Did have the op to walk Faith Hill down to the lobby. This was back when she 1st hit it big. Such a skinny lil shit(at that time), but gorgeous!!

Brooks & Dunne would always check in under 'Batman & Robin", so no one would know they were there, if they should get hold of the guest sheet.

Then there was the time when that Secret Service fella wouldn't allow us to go do a job we were called to do....no one allowed on that floor.....and got kinda mouthy when asked if he would take care of it for us.

Apparently Faith Hill's husband, Tim McGraw, is distantly related to my wife. They're both of Irish heritage and are something like 4th or 5th cousins.

George Foreman rented my house in preparation for his fight with Joe Frazier, Nassau coliseum 1976. It was for sale, a big ol’ mansion run down. George was a Quiet guy. Got a pic with him. He beats Frazier- they gave us tix and sat ringside with so many celebrities. They asked to stay an extra day. No problem. leave and As we’re moving back we see a publicity pic, with writing on the back. Turns out his dog had the shits all over our first floor. The extra day was so they could hire a carpet cleaner. He hand wrote along apology note. Pretty sure it was him, because there were several misspelled words :-). I have it on display in my house.

Only nationally known guy I ever met was Dave Cowens at the New England Sports Museum. Really nice guy who took time to talk. I was kinda tongue tied though.

My brother lives in a building in the West Village that has and has had a lot of famous tenants over the years, including Tom Cruise, Cameron Diaz, Bebe Neuwirth, Marissa Tomei, Isaac Misrahi, among others.
One day my family and I rode the elevator with Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield. They were both very nice.

Only ones I know of were country star Alan Jackson, NBA player Lorenzen Wright, Rufus Thomas (Funky Chicken), country singer Louise Mandrell, and country singer Neal McCoy. Rufus was a hoot. All real nice too. Didn’t ask for any autographs, but Neal volunteered to pose with our six month old son.

Met Curtis Joseph (Cujo) at an almost empty driving range near here in the fall an hour before closing, back in 1996 or 1997.I was there with my son.
I pulled up two stalls away from him and didn't notice who it was until he stopped hitting balls at the same time as me and commented on the hot air balloons that were going by near the end of the range. I told my 10 year year son who it was and he got him to sign a spare scorecard that was in my bag, in pencil. lol

Sheryl Ladd is a fantastic lady, her husband Brian is a great guy. I was in a church youth group with one of her daughters. Met her and her husband Brian. For some reason they took a liking to me. They ended up meeting my parents, and whenever they made it to church and saw my folks they would always make it a point to ask about me. Whenever I was able to attend and saw them, they would always stop and chat with me for a bit.
One of the guys I golf with from time to time, Dana, is a director, producer, editor, narrator... his dad got him into working on movies. His dad did a few surfing movies and a few on motorcycles. He also named a few surf breaks in Hawaii...
His dad was Bruce Brown.
I've gotten to meet the casting director of the original Dukes of Hazzard as well. She's really mellow and good people.
I've been fortunate as all the ones from Hollywood I've gotten to meet have been really mellow and cool. Not stuck up, and bitchy jerks.
They have all acted like normal, every day people.

I've met a few famous people, but never really got to speak with them much

On spring break in 86 or 87 I ran into Pierce Brosnan at the San Diego Zoo. He was there with his family and was talking to my buddy and I for a minute before we realized who he was.

My wife's uncle was good friends with Joe Pepitone of the Yankees and back in the 90's he got us into a few of the player dinners for the Old Timers game where I got to meet a lot of retired ballplayers; even Dimaggio and Rizzuto. One time I sat next to Mike Torrez who was mostly famous for Bucky Dent hitting a home run off of him. Super, super nice guy. I met a lot of famous players, but most seemed annoyed they had to meet and greet anyone.

When my cousin got married I got to briefly meet Red Auerbach and KC Jones. Apparently the bride's father was a big shot with the Celtics. They didn't stay long, but as Celtics fans it was nice surprise for my dad and I.

Almost played golf with Tom Lehman once at my father-in-laws club. The place was nearly empty and the starter was going to pair us up with him but he asked if he could go off ahead to play/practice alone promising not to hold us up. Never seen anyone hit a drive so far at that #1 hole and we barely saw him again. He was at some of the Easter brunches and Thanksgiving dinners I went to at the club as well and at a Masters party. Honestly glad I didn't play with him as he never seemed to be a very friendly guy.

Spuzz Only lived in one NHL city in my life, but I remember seeing Curtis come to the St. Louis Blues while I lived there and watched him play a few games at the arena. I don't like watching on TV, but I miss being able to easily go to NHL games live.

Gerry Cheevers was in town for a sports celebrity dinner once and I got his autograph for fomer FGIer Espe who was a big Bruins fan.

Ran into Andre Aggasi on Sanibel Island when I was a kid on vacation with a buddy we went out to eat.....pretty sure at Hooters, but 🤔and the waitress offered to take my buddy and i over and ask for his autograph, which he signed a menu for both of us....pretty sure i stilk have it. This was in his "image is everything" days.

I used to play in some charity golf events. Got to play with Sports stars and TV type actors a few times.
some of ones were: Dan Hampton, Chicago Bears. Sam Jones from the 60's Celtics, Ray Williams from the NBA.
Got to Hit on the range with a bunch of people. Craig T Nelson (Coach was next to me real early one time, I was having 1 of my really good long drive warmups, He looked at me like " Who the Hell are you?" Actually talked with him at the after party.
I had a beer with Jim Boeheim at the bar, talked Syracuse BBall for a bit. Met a bunch of retired NFL and MLB stars. Ed "Too Tall" Jones, Cowboys had the biggest hands of anybody I ever shook hands with. Favorite one had to be Lynn Swann from the Steelers, He was the group behind us, while waiting to roll out, we talked for a good 10 minutes. Got an Autograph on the back of the Cart assignment sign. Cool guy, talked about all kinds of stuff. Our team actually won the event when we played with Dan Hampton.
I am just saying do not go drinking with Dan Hampton. Cart girl shows up, he says " 12 Ultras please, Put 6 of them in Moe's cart and 6 in mine.". Good memories.

Met Stevie Wonder backstage at a benefit concert in LA,super nice guy,not very tall.
When I was little kid my grandpa who was a cop, was assigned to be Jayne Mansfield's bodyguard
at a local race track where she was the queen,got to meet her....she was gorgeous!🙄
Also gramps gave Bob Hope a speeding ticket one time,Bob just said "Hope's the name"!😁
Once got paired up with a guy at Big Rec GC in Long Beach his name was Marlin Briscoe,
first black QB to start in the NFL....really nice ,humble dude who went through a lot of issues in life.

Used to play racquetball with Ted Field who started Interscope Records and Interscope Racing.
This guy was super wealthy and would pull into the parking lot of the R-ball club driving everything
from his Turbo Carrera,Dino Ferrari to a Rolls Royce.....not very friendly but had a hot wife!
Went to elementary school with Tris Imboden,drummer for Kenny Loggins and later Chicago.
We used to high jump together during PE class back in the days when the landing pit was just sawdust.

I met Barack Obama briefly and actually golfed behind him (sort of) on Joint Base Andrews, MD out in DC. Secret Service shuts down like 3 or 4 holes ahead & behind the Prez when they play there.

Most famous celebrity I have met is Anthony Edwards…yes “Goose” from Top Gun/Dr. Greene on ER… I was checking into a hotel one night here in Montana and he was checking in also…we waited our turn and BS’d for about 10-15 minutes…super nice guy. I think he was here filming the movie Northfork at the time.
