After several fails in trying graphite shafted irons, what graphite shafts are out there is a similar playing profile to the TT DG105?

The DG105 in my g410’s are stiff. I recently went through a PXG fitting (did not buy) in which the DG105 (still or reg) performed well.

I also have a set of very old Adams Ideal Pro Gold with Steelfiber i95 in stiff that I like. That stated, the i95’s aren’t too stiff but are on the still side.

I have recently tried some recoil dart 75 in stiff. I just can’t get with these irons as I think the shaft is just too light.

I’m not 100% sure but I would think the MMT 105 would be close to what you’re playing.

I emailed True Temper recently to ask what shaft is closest to DGSL .370 R300. I told them that I tried the DG 105 and it was close but slightly softer in the tip.

They confirmed my feeling about that, and said the SF i95 R flex was the closest match. Based on that, the SF should be pretty close for you but slightly stiffer in the tip. Of course this is all from what they told me.

I really want to try the i95 R flex.

Assuming money is no object, I would go with a hard stepped R flex SF 95.

DonM I would agree, could even go to the 110 if weight was the question. None of it is cheap, but that’s part of the game with graphite. If you want an experiment check out Logical One, their shafts are very affordable.

Agree…have the 85 gram on the way…can’t wait to try them out 👍

Par4QC Used the 75R yesterday. Damn fine shafts, they are. Stable, kick....whatever it is you look for.👍👍

          Great to hear this!
The 85S shafts headed my way are a few CPMs softer than Kelly’s accepted tolerance range for stiff…and I will also more than likely soft step them once too…gonna install one in the set AW also to see if it can knock my steel shafted CBX2 50* out of the bag…

sdandrea1 Those are hard to kick out of the bag

🤣Not really. Bought, played, sold. All in the same season.....can you imagine??

I only have 3 clubs, which I bought brand new, still in the bag, that may never leave my 'live' hands. And they are old.....maybe 15 yrs. old. Anything else is just 'temporary golf club noise'.

VigilanteTrail I would just shaft 1 iron and try it just to feel the flex. If soft-stepping, you can always pull it and move it. iirc, I got the 'in spec' 75R and they feel perfect*. I do have others on the way, for some reason🙄.

*Not sure what happened the past 7 months, but I'd normally like something in A flex or close to. Even my drivers felt a little soft yesterday. But the new 5wd, with a new Prodigi (high side of R scale) shaft felt/performed great! (I swear, I am not going to overthink all this!!😄)
