johnnydoom Buying a team is an investment, and those with millions/billions do look for losing investments sometimes. No sense to me, but it seems to be their way of thoughts. Not sure what they are all thinking now what with their 'losing' investments being worth so many times more than the initial. No loss whatsoever. Can't even get rid of it, if loss was the objective. I suppose if they are still wanting the loss look, they will keep hands & mouths off of the situation going on, not wanting improvements.
There is an online boycott call, so to speak, not to watch/attend any WNBA games until something is done with the refs. This was started, of course, by the CC fanatics. Sat. night's game had a lot of empty seats. Doubt such a thing will do much, esp. if owners want losses....they would welcome it.
The NBA also needs something to write off, so...
I'll continue to watch games, if able or interested in certain teams/players. Don't care for the way some games are managed by 'the crews' but that is some of what I'm watching, for comparisons. So far, not a lot of differences between Indy games and several others, play or officiating. The rough plays are always by the same people. And non-calls are a lot of times by the same crew.
Sophie said on her podcast that there are a lot of internal problems with the Mercury team/org, from a friend of hers on the inside. I did notice their top rookie that was doing quite well in the beginning, decided to leave the team.....'resting for the summer'. She's a big star in Europe, where she comes from. Smart girl, getting away from that infectious group.
White said she was part of the officiating 'task force' discussions over the winter. Fingers needed to be pointed, names named, in those discussions. They are never going to have any consistency, as they want, until the Stewart/Wilson/Griner/etc. 'whistle' is stopped. Oh, forgot the CC whistle also, which is the opposite whistle. No disputing it. Even a non-fan could see.
These 'touched her shirt' fouls need to stop. And the screens using shoulders/crossed arms should be flagrant 2s.....they are trying to knock down/injure. And when a butt hits the court, at any time, a review needs to be done every time, to see why that butt was on the floor! Whether they saw it 'live'π€πor not. Too much & not enough in all games now.
