I liked the way the offense ran for the Fever from what I saw, which was basically the 2nd and 3rd quarters. When Caitlin was in the game, they were passing the ball around aggressively (with turnovers resulting sometimes too) and pushing the pace both on offense and defense. Mo and Hines-Allen missed a few layups off of Caitlin feeds, but they'll get used to handling those quick moves as things go along. The pace stayed high when Caitlin was out too, all of the guards were pushing it. For the most part, the only player taking contested shots was Caitlin and even though she's missing them, she still continues to draw the defense out and open up the floor because they are so determined to make sure she's not the one that beats them with it. Lexi looked good on defense and not so good on offense. Sophie looked good on both. Kelsey was great on offense. The refs let a lot of early fouls go and then made up for it by calling almost any contact in the 3rd quarter it seemed. Not consistent, but at least they moved it away from the old-style prison ball at some point and got the Sparks guards to stop slapping Caitlin in the face every time she tried to move with the ball.
Brinks played impressively at points. I do think that she gets away with not having turnovers called as she seems to either carry her dribble or travel every time she moves with the ball away from the basket. But her defense and mobility to create offense in close is rather impressive when she's at her best.

Looks like the Fever need to waive a guard and bring up Pissott. Mo and Hines-Allen are putting in max effort, but there's very little offensive good coming of it. And AB sitting out the last 6 minutes with another lower leg injury. Clark trying to will them to a win, but Citron countering with enough to hold them off. Wow. Clark hit a clutch 3 with 2.2 to tie it and then it looked like Citron won it with a 3/4 court shot, but apparently it was just after the clock expired. OT. Washington wins in OT. Good game, but the Indy front court was viciously exploited by Washington.

johnnydoom Not quite sure what that 2nd Q was all about. Almost like some coaches(Indy) had major brain farts with what I saw being performed on the floor, and by who. migawd...wth was that?? Timpson and Raven only got 4 minutes each???

Hated seeing her have to take so many 3 shots. But that Mystics group was not going to let anyone inside. Kelsey missed on a few drives & I think it may have been from nerves. Those young gals were scary inside.

WNBA off to a great start. Malonga out with a concussion. Rhyne Howard too. Boston out with an injury. Looks like physicality is still a thing.

Incidental contact is always going to happen, and I think in almost all cases so far, that is the case. Haven't seen anyone 'going after' anyone else. Not yet anyway, but it will come as the season goes on and losses push tempers.
Nice to see CC not getting the shit beat out of her this year. No one is even chasing her the whole floor.
And she needs to stop her BS with foul calls, she gets her share. They are being called because of her past beatings. jmo

I say that about the fouls, but no clue as to why Timpson could not get 1 call last night, after missing 5 times right under the basket, double-teamed! (A'ja would have got 5 calls😆)

They beat up a wounded team last night, but a win is a win. They still need to do better with rotations. Some gals just cannot be on the floor with some others.

I missed the games last week but see that the Fever got rid of a guard and picked up another forward. Looks like they've stopped playing Dantas. Wondering if they're about to waive her and bring up Pissott, or if Dantas got hurt somewhere? VanSlooten and Pissott are both rookies, but they might be able to put in some good minutes and VanSlooten looks like a player that could give them some good interior defense. The makeup of the team looks better to me now (if the chemistry is there) to run and gun with multiple subs and to function when CC and AB are missing games due to the injuries they've been sporting. Also adding players that can possibly give them better defense interior defense given CC and KM are weak on the perimeter.

johnnydoom Not sure what's going on with Dantas. She was playing OK but has only 6 minutes the last 3 games. White kept the pedal down last game though with few subs. Timpson, Hines, & Billings only got 11-13 minutes. Crazy thought, but maybe she's finally seen what works best. The 'core' group.
It was a game I gave them no chance of winning & they looked so different/played like it was a playoff game.

I think Caitlin saw all the empty seats the prior game and decided to spice things up so no one stays home next game. 1 tech, 1 flagrant, 5 fouls, and was so mouthy/in your face, I thought she was gonna get slapped.😆Or ejected.

Tonight's rematch game is not going to be pretty, esp. in CA.
Again, I give them 0 chance of winning this one.
Unless they shut that inside down again. Valkyries score 43% of their points from the 3....and we all know the %s of those shots on all teams. Just keep them outside again.

But they got to stop letting the 3s go from the other team. They will throw them up all night, and so far, they are doing well %wise.

Ref's whistles must have the peas missing on the Fever end of the court. Several that should have been called. But, did we not know that was going to happen in that house? 😄

A lot of confusion from the Fever squad, so it seems. Chickens, with missing heads, and all that.😉

CC was absolutely atrocious tonight. Last 2 minutes of the game, back to back turnovers and an airball. GS plays some mean defense.

GS is 5-2 for good reason. It's why I was very surprised last week when Indy beat them, even at home.

Cannot have a 1st Q like last night and expect good results at the end. All other things considered......like 11 blocks with 5 of them coming from a 5'9" player!😲

Starting to lose hope that Mo brings much of anything besides a little rebounding.

I guess the good start might be all they had. Starting to look like the Fever might as well leave after the 1st quarter. They look bad all around again now.
