FOUND Ping G400 MAX Driver

Never had a Ping driver. Was thinking of purchasing one to try once I'm done with all these cancer issues and can return to playing when the weather warms up. Can't afford the newer models like the G 425/430 etc. What are your thoughts on the Ping G 400 Max??
I found one 10.5* with factory headcover but has a 60gram Kuro Kage regular flex shaft instead of the Ping shaft.
Your thoughts on the G 400 Max???
Drivers in my playing bags are Taylormade Sim Max2 D and a couple of M6s (all the shafts interchange and they're each different). I have others I'm planning on selling in the near future that have never been on a golf course and are like new (such as a Krank F11 XX and Logical One Neuro), and of course a a couple of the FGIers, a Wishon 9590L and a Tour Swing Infringer 😊.
So give me your thoughts and comparisons on the G 400 Max please.

I’ve had both. In my experience you are losing nothing from your sim max2 over the g400 max. Also the ping is a heavy head. If you go away from a counter balanced shaft you will notice how heavy it feels. If you are in between regular and stiff go stiff if you buy one because the regular flex is kinda wimpy. Not saying it wasn’t a great driver because it was. My experience was the sim max2 was excellent then went to the paradym which is even better imo. Again smaller differences than one would think. For me ping= A-, TM=A, Paradym = A+. I may have not found the right shaft for the G400 max so that’s possible too. I bought a couple shafts and experimented and before I I knew it I was 6-7 hundred dollars into an experiment that never panned out for me.

Hammer4413 It's as good as they come, that's why it's held its value so long. Can't really go wrong. Of course I sold mine.

It is the gold standard for the point and shoot/forgiving drivers. IMO the ping crown is fugly as they come....but it did not stop me from playing a G LST for a season +.....when you look at other drivers since that release ....many have that shape with the ridge protruding down the middle of the sole with a weight in back!

The 400 series is pretty special. I can’t speak for the Max, but you’ll certainly get more feedback and information from others soon.

From articles I've read and video comparisons I've reviewed, it looks like the G430 Max is the best of the bunch, but out of this 75 year old's price range. The G400 Max around $200 in great shape but the G430 is twice that. I know alot of the Buzzers will have input, suggestions etc and I'm looking forward to reading them. Gonna take my meds and get some sleep, been up all night.
13* here right now with a windchill of 3* per the 6am news (winds 12 mph out there). And I'm in Chattanooga TN and we're not used to that. 🥶🥶🥶🥶

Best driver head ever made. MOI of 9900… and NOW we’re having the MOI wars🤫. I still take mine out since the Stealth series hasn’t done me any favors. The 400 looks great, very symmetrical, sets up square and exudes confidence over the ball. You can’t help but want to swing hard knowing it’s going straight.

Buy it! Another thing, THAT driver still commands good money… even more than a used g425 does so that should tell you something. I can’t say enough good things about that driver.

Agree that it is extremely hard to beat the G400 Max for anywhere near the $$$ commanded now.

I’ve never hit the max. Being a cheapskate I bought the regular G400 instead. It is the most stable driver I’ve ever hit and since the G400 Max is supposed to be even more of that I can only assume it is great.

Well the G400 max 10.5* I mentioned in my initial post got sold before I had a chance to buy it for future use. Sold it for $210 but it was 44.5" long and had a Kuro Kage shaft.
Bye Bye to it ....can't seem to find one in excellent shape but a few average that they want that kind of money for.
May have to investigate the mint Ping G SF TEC that Landon has for sale......

Typhoon I had a 400LST, 400SFT, 410. and a G30SFT.
There was no comparison to the G30. It was monstrous....long and straight. IF I wanted a driver, I'd grab that G to try.

But, we both need to keep in mind that every driver head is not equal to all of the same produced. Some are 'hot', some are not, just 'normal'. I have a hot Mavrik; I say that having had a few of them. Not. For. Sale. btw😉

Par4QC so true. Some are just flat out better than others, even when they are the exact same model.

Par4QC I had a g30lst and it was meh…. Got used to it being meh and then I was in California with the wife on one of her meetings and I hit the 2016 M2 that had just came out. Hit both side by side… difference was night and day. Called my guy and got fit for an M2 when I got home.

And then a few years later I go with the g400max and sell the M2 to a friend

Wasn't the regular flex shaft I wanted (it's a stiff) but with it and the headcover looking really, really nice And the price reasonable at $190 shipped, I pulled the trigger. Bought it PayPal Goods & Services too!
Has an Aldila NVS 55 gram shaft. I'll try it and if it doesn't work I've got some credits at Pro Golf Headquarters here in Chattanooga and I'll have them replace it with a fine Accra 142i M3 regular flex shaft I have in a Tourswing Infringer driver I was going to sell. Can't wait to get it even though I can't swing a club right now!!
