Any top 40 Cheap Trick song would be played on the 70’s channel on Casey Kasem’s top 40 on Saturdays on Sirius XM.

Also, lead singer Robin Zander lives in Safety Harbor Florida. Not too far from me.

I know I have heard both of those played. I have quite a few channels saved and do a LOT of surfing. Don't know if I've ever heard Budgie, but they were not really mainstream. Wish they played more April Wine, Alan Parsons, Dream Theater.

I got rid of Sirius/XM because they keep playing the same songs over and over again. If I want to hear the same songs over and over again, i'll listen to the local radio stations.

Silly me, I thought the whole point of satellite radio was to be free of the obligation to play the same 50 songs for years. I thought that, freed from the shackles of advertisers, satellite radio would play all kinds of stuff. I thought wrong.

rsvman2 Same here… my boy always laughed because he would say how he hears the same songs on his way to work as he did coming home. Also we’d laugh at the amount of Tesla that was played on one of the stations. Depends on the channel of course but I like Cheap Trick and hears it a lot and we’ve heard some UFO because my son has some story about them.

Anyway, we use Spotify now. Like Walter said, I’ve also given up on regular radio stations other than sports radio.

I never have paid for a subscription but have had a few periods of extended trials for getting service done at the dealership. In the last free trial period a few weeks back, I was disappointed they had gotten rid of one of my favorites, Deep Tracks (or was it Deep Cuts?). That was the one channel that would consistently play stuff you don't hear on local radio and not have the same songs on rotation day after day. Two bands I like but never have heard on XM are The Blasters and BoDeans (not overly popular, so not really surprised). Neither really fit into a particular genre, so if they are played on there, I may not have been tuned into the correct channel.
I recall hearing a fair bit of UFO on Ozzys Boneyard in the past.

They still have it, but it moved to a different number a little while back. They do shuffle things around, had to do some reprogramming recently.

I just pulled up a list of channels, I guess I will need to scroll thru 300 channels next time in order to get that programmed.

I have given up on almost every radio station any more. I go to pandora and search the artists I want to hear. Almoat no radio stations ever play the true classics I want to hear. I have found one from Reno area that plays the good classics I love, unfortunately while they have a streaming version, it doesn't play classics.

Well, Patsy Cline is great (was?). I'm not real familiar with Bob Wills but Ernest Tubb never appealed to me at all.
He sounds like he runs out of air and is dying at the end of every line of the song. He has to be may my least favorite country star.

I listen to Deep Tracks as well as Tom Petty's Buried Treasure.
At least these sources don't play the same stuff over and over again.

Local "rock" radio here is a repeating short list of mostly Nirvana🤮 and Foo Fighters. When using ear buds, Pandora is pretty darn good, I have it on shuffle and don't need to use skip very often. SiriusXM is kinda like cable TV, lots of channels but not much on. Still definitely better than local radio though.

mulegolf not sure what tv show this was taken from. But Bob Wills and the Texas Playboys was western band. They had the big band sound with steel guitarand fiddle. I miss the sound of the old big bands....

If you search/fish for a station long enough on Sirius ,you'll find
just about every band/artist that ever pushed the record button.
Myself,I usually have either Alt Nation or the PGA ch. on.

darpar I found when I had the basic package I was basically listening to 3-4 channels. So I said screw it.

I had heard of him I just wasn't familiar with his music. Not much chance I'll listen to him, at least at home. My
wife is immediately turned off when she hears that type of music. Especially the steel guitar. I'm OK with it but
it isn't my favorite kind of music. Patsy Cline I loved.

SiriusXM recently wrapped up their annual free preview. I would like to have it, but only for a few months. I use my morning and afternoon commutes to hear about all the dirty shit that is going on in our state and country. It gets repetitious so satellite radio would be nice to break it up

You're just ruining your life listening to that shit. If you agree with them it just makes you more upset. If you don't agree
with that viewpoint... it just makes you upset. Most of it is garbage anyhow. It's just put out there to slant your view of everything. Stop wasting your time. Stop wasting your life.

mulegolf most of the classic country I love is not for everybody. I have always preferred the older, twangy steel guitar country.
