So why the tiny number?
Can't speak for anyone else. I didn't watch it because I wasn't feeling all that well and I also thought it was a lock for Ohio St. Although it was more competitive, it felt like it would be kind of like the Georgia/TCU final, or even the Alabama/Notre Dame final the last time the Irish made it.
The 12 team concept still helped itself though because in prior years Ohio St. probably wouldn't have even been invited after losing to Michigan in the last game. They would have been left out like Georgia was last year.
