AdamMH Almo’s BOM and DCT, Mike’s Nemesis and 455 got me into the LD world and building my own driver’s. One of the best things I’ve ever done.

Just saw this. I found Almo very entertaining back in the old FGI days. I thought the "FU2" and "Little Bastard" names were hilarious. I wish I still had my DCT head.

I only talked to him once. He donated a driver as a raffle prize for a high school sports fundraiser golf tournament I was involved in organizing. Great guy!

I had no idea about his health issues. Sounds like he is indeed in a better place. RIP, Steve.

To this day, the absolute longest driver I ever owned was the Big Big Bang at a whopping 525 cc's. It was loud as hell and illegal, but fun to hit. I cracked the head and was immediately sent a replacement free of charge. I have owned other Bang heads through the years, but none as long or as loud as that one.

Years ago I was in a covered heated range hitting the Big Bang 450. That was years ago when I had much more swing speed. The noise really reverberated in the stall and the 450 sounded like a high powered rifle. I kept seeing a small Asian guy peeping around the end of the stall wall. After I quit hitting he steps around the wall. I expected him to speak with a bit of an accent but he says, "Hey dude, what the fuck are you hitting here?" I laughed my ass off and invited him over to hit it. 🤣

I chatted with him on the phone once. I was looking for a driver, and had a question or 2 about the DCT. He gave me his personal cell and asked me to call him. We chatted on the phone for 10-15 minutes, and I ended up buying the driver. Not because I thought it was the best idea for me, but because he took some time and treated me like his friend, not a customer. I never forgot that. I still swing my DCT from time to time just for the fun of it. RIP Steve, I'm glad you're no longer suffering friend.

Same for me and apparently pretty much everyone he ran across. I've always tried to do the same in my sales career and I've known a few others like that, but Steve was definitely one of the best.
