At the time, ya know 2001, this was real technology. But that was also around the time 300cc driver was considered "HUGE"! Shortly there after, a certain 455cc head became legendary and the rest is, as they say, history. Today, finding something to make people buy shit is the name of the game. White paint, square, triangle, back to traditional, CG shifting, adjustable, yada yada, yada, end result is not much better than what we had 5 years ago.
A proper fitting driver from 2005, component line up because at that time they truly were ahead of the oems in many respects, would be just as good in damn near every category as the new stuff of today. I have come away from hitting very few new clubs truly excited by them, those include the Ping G LST and the Cobra LTD Pro, both were noticeably more forgiving than my DB455, both were plenty long, but not impressively so, that's to say I have hit longer, but the overall package made a good reason to switch. 2 heads in about 15 years that ACTUALLY showed a reason for me to switch other than I wanted to look at something new. Pretty shotty endorsement for all the new crap out there.
