PVC Tube has served me well over the years. I think the last time I bought some, it was $4 or $5 for 10 foot, so you get two shipments out of that. Be sure to select the thinner wall version - much cheaper to buy and to ship. I just take a pulled shaft with me into Lowe's and see which one is big enough.

Note - on the "can you put a label on PVC question" - Yes, but must be done in a certain manner. USPS needs to be able to scan the bar code. So make sure the bar code is vertical so that it can be hit with a single scan. Note that if you wrap the entire label around in that manner - it is too big and will overlap. I print out the label, then cut off the barcode part. Then tape on the label wraparound style, and then next to it tape just the barcode.

Round and triangle "boxes" are no longer a thing, at least for some carriers/options and will lead to a surcharge. Use PayPal/Shipstation or Pirateship (essentially the same price) for a quote and you will have all info you need for prices!

The only thing I know is that if you use a round or triangle shape box and just bring it to the Post Office there is a 99% chance you will be charged a lot extra. If you use the USPS website or app it doesn't seem to want to gauge you. I've had good luck with Pirateship for most everything recently.

KCee seems to be a roll of he dice printing off a label for a "box" and putting it on a tube or triangle. I have heard a chargeback occurs. As far as I can tell on PS and SS there is no option to input dimensions for a tube or triangle!

ode I never had a chargeback, but I have been using Pirateship most of the time lately. My post office was horrible whenever I would bring a tube or triangle box in. The post office near my work was much better which proved it was dependent on how the postal employee entered the info.

KCee very well could be carrier specific. I had it happen on PayPal order where I used a triangle box. I argued with the PP cs rep and he relented and refunded the chargeback.....but he did not need to. That was the last time I used a triangle box!
