I think of the driver the opposite way; tee it up pretty high and lean away from the direction of the hole at the set-up.
I have a tendency to hit down on are ball with driver that I am trying to overcome. Now I feel like I am almost reverse weight-shifting through the ball (i'm not even close, but I have hit down on it for so long that I have to exaggerate the feel). This allows a level to slightly upward angle of attack, which helps me a great deal in terms of getting a few more yards.
I play 5-wood off the tee on a fair number of par fours. Anywhere where extra yardage isnt a clear advantage, or where the fairway is narrow or has woods or water on the side I am perfectly happy to be 25 yards shorter or more and in play.
