What's your GPS watch of choice?

My Garmin S10 is going downhill. It will freeze up occasionally and need to be reset. Very slow catching up with the yardage and the strap broke.
I bought the new Bushnell, not the Neo which I had and loved, but the Ion Edge. Didn't care for it at all. Touch screen instead of buttons. You don't get a manual you have to go online and read it and it doesn't give much info. I was able to figure out the Garmin S10 without even reading the manual.
The "shot distance" button doesn't hold. If you set the shot at the tee and want to tell someone else who didn't hit it as far as you how far they have if you go away from the shot feature when you go back it has reset. Anyway, not a fan.
So what are you using. I see an Izzo on Walmart for $75. Anybody try it? I really just need F-C-B and some hazards and the shot feature.
I also am considering a newer version of a Garmin.

Curious to see what others say. I've had an S20 for a while and it's always had some issues. The old Neo was better except the battery went. I was thinking of getting something like a Shotscope but I don't need actual data to know where I suck

I got a Galaxy Watch for Christmas and love it. I'm currently using the Hole19 app for GPS and tracking.

Previously had a Garmin and this is WAY better... plus I can do all the other stuff including fitness tracking, messaging, music, calls, etc.

johnnydoom My wife and kid and my older kids are iPhone. I am android now pixel 5. You can pull it off. The others will be jealous when your android is running great and apple decides to stop updating their phones and they become unresponsive. They will ask you to look up the reset instructions on your android phone...ask me how I know.

So... 2 things. Eventually everyone needs to grow up and put childish things (Apple products) away.

2nd.. I'm pretty sure they have similar apps for the Apple watch.

If you liked the S10, it's probably worth having a look at the S12 - effectively a newer version of the S10 with significantly better battery life.

(For what it's worth, I use a Garmin Enduro - a running watch rather than a specialist golf watch as I do a fair bit of running, but gives me all I need out of a golf GPS watch.)

My first GPS watch was a Garmin. But the strap was integrated with the watch. So when the strap broke, that was it.

The one I got after is the Bushnell Neo Ion which I still use. The original strap broke where the excess strap goes. The little adjustable piece of rubber.

They sent me a new one for free. Then it broke just like the original. So I just use a small tie wrap to hold the excess in place.

I’ve had it several years. Still works fine. It doesn’t have all the bells and whistles like some, but I don’t want the extra French pastry stuff.

Just give me the front, middle and back yardages. Measure shot distance and I’m good to go.

I also had that Garmin watch with the integrated strap as my first one, which broke. Garmin replaced the entire watch for free. Great customer service, but it was obviously a design flaw because after a few years the strap broke again so I tried something new.
I've been using the Bushnell Ion 2 watch for the last 2 years. Very affordable and works great, doesn't have all the bells and whistles but distance to middle, front and back of the green is good enough for me. Great value.

Golf buddy. Not a watch but a clip-on. No muss, no fuss, good battery life, no strap to break. I clip it on my belt or the waist of my pants. Some people clip it onto their hats.
I have never worn any kind of watch when go find and I don't want to start now.

As for Apple v Android, I am the only person in my family that uses Android. No question in my mind it is superior. My wife knows it is better ans when she wants an answer to a question and wants it now, she asks me to find it. She says 'Siri is an idiot.' I concur.

Another vote here for Golf Buddy Voice. I hate wearing watches.

I still have my Bushnell Neo. It’s great… Front/Middle/Back yardages. I suppose if I played a lot of new courses where I either didn’t know about hazards, or didn’t know how far to hazards something with more info would be better but for basics, it’s great. I couple it with a Bushnell rangefinder if needed

I just bought a Garmin S2 golf watch off Facebook marketplace for $50. Works great and is lightweight. Shows front, middle and back pins. All I need.

One of my golf buddies had one of those. He loved it except whenever he would forget to charge it the thing would tell him it was shutting down in his backswing. I never could hear the thing except when it would say "shutting down" and he would drop the club or hit it fat lol.

I have both a Garmin S10 and an S40. I like some of the features you get with the S40 that don't come with the S10
but I like the ease of use with the S10. It connects to the satellite quicker and it's just a simpler unit to use.

I've had the Garmin Approach S62 for over a year now and have had no issues.
The batt. life when not using the GPS is like at least 10+ days.
For golf this thing is spot on with a range finder and pretty easy to use and read...BIG face!

azgreg There are 2 guys in my group that have it and they like it. Neither of them like wearing a watch and they just have the gps attached to their golf bag. My playing partner yesterday had one and the #'s were identical to my Garmin S20 watch. My S20 almost always reads high in a couple places on the course, but the Bushnell didn't seem to have a problem.
