How do you mark your ball ?

Rarely get mine confused …. How do you mark yours ? Pics helpful. 😎

I’m just a recreational player and so I just stick with model and number. I have hit the wrong ball at least once. Hit my ball over a hill into deep rough and stumbled onto the same model and number, but seemingly short of where I thought I would be. Hit it, and then came across an identical ball 30 yards farther along the same line. Played both balls out and made the same score with each. Still don’t really know which was my ball and suppose that it’s even possible that whoever lost the other one in the rough could have also lost another like it and that neither was mine.

My group had to implement a ball marking rule. Many years ago one of the guys in the group hit a big slice yet somehow was able to find his ball 40 yards across the other side of the fairway. Swore up and down it was his. We still give him shit to this day about it.🤣🤣🤣

Mattyv I initial everything in that manner, right side of the W is the left side of the N.
When I get brand new golf balls, I like to ise a little bit of blue metallic nail polish. Stuff doesn't wear off very easily. I paint a little in a few dimples all the way around the ball. No matter how it lies, I can identify it. The only thing is I couldn't tell you if someone else has one of the ones I've lost.

I put a green line about a third of the way around on one side on the other side I scribble a JM that run together.

I never saw many balls that had green marks on them so I started putting a green dot to the left of the number.
I haven't come across another golfer at least around here) that uses that mark on the ball. I thought of drawing
a tiny mule on the ball but that would take to long and I'm not great at drawing figures.

Spuzz perpendicular. I’m not purporting to be consistent enough with my putting stroke for the seam or balance of the ball to impact my accuracy. A straight line to aim at is good enough for me!

1 purple dot in a dimple under the number - both sides. Got a mini Sharpie in purple in a shipment years ago & it is still working.
