My latest theory about my own iron problems is that I just plain like to sweep the ball. I can flush a 39" 6 hybrid in the middle of the face most of the time, but give me a 36" 9 iron and I'm all over the place, center to toe, and high and low. I like to think I'm making the same swing, but I am trying to hit down on the iron, because that is how the club is designed. The hybrid works fine with a sweeping swing, and that's what I do best.
The more blade-y the iron, the more my brain says hit down and compress it. But my swing just can't cash that check. And I'm only talking a few degrees down. I don't take much divot. I want to see if I play something like T-Rail, Launch Pad, Halo, if I can get my brain to just let me sweep them. The FC One Plus look like good candidates to try this out.
