Par4QC DonM I've tried the driver, and it is as good as anything you can buy. I have seen the fw heads. They are closed face and too pricey for what they are. jmo
KCee DonM I was interested as well. Almost ordered a 7w head, but traded in stuff for a 7W from CPO instead. If Golfworks would just make a Tour TC 7w head I'd be all set. The 4w is awesome.
colej DonM Just came in and it’s not a bad looking head. Little bit more offset then I was hoping for but I’ll probably live.
DonM KCee If Golfworks would just make a Tour TC 7w head I'd be all set. They are coming out with a 7 wood in the Tour something, but I think it is a new line.
bad9 KCee I was holding out for a Tour YC 7w head but they announced it was going to be different and adjustable (ie too expensive) so I sold my Tour TC 5w and am going with Callaway Rogue ST Max Heavenwood and 9 woods this year. I don't think I paid much more than what I think the GW's will cost and they will have some resale value if I don't like them. I began asking for a matching 7w head since the KE4 ST-f but GW never did a matching one. They almost, sort of did with the HyWay clubs but the head shape was too different from the noral TC head and not in a good way.
KCee bad9 I was hoping for a Tour TC 7w as well. If I knew when the the new adjustable model was coming I might have waited, but I traded a Mavrik 5w in for a Rogue ST Max 7w. Haven't been able to play yet, but it looks nice!
bad9 KCee I played my Rogue HW very late in the season last year and really like it. Over the winter I picked up the 9w to battle with my 3hy which will likely end up in my short set.
DonM I think GW doesn't get that in a business, there are some SKUs that you have to provide for the big picture, even if they are not profitable on their own. 7 woods are maybe the most glaring example. Also 5-6-7 hybrids.
KCee DonM I'm really surprised GW didn't make a 7w as they have always favored Game Improvement clubs and to me that means high lofted fairways for slower swingers. They do offer the Hyway, but that club looks odd to me; sort of a super hybrid type that should have a .370 hosel.
d5n03 KCee Don’t knock the Maltby HyWay. I have the 21* as my 7W. Stupid easy to hit good shots with it. I’ll admit that is pretty odd looking though.
KCee d5n03 I may order a head at some point. I was close to pulling the trigger, but then I realized I could trade the Mavrik 5w for the Rogue ST 7w and pay less than the Hyway cost so I went that route. If it doesn't work that well I have a few shafts for the Hyway laying around.
d5n03 KCee I initially shafted my HyWay with an SK Fiber TT80 - a shaft that had worked well for me in fairway clubs in the past. I wasn’t happy with it. I switched to another shaft (don’t remember which one) - still not satisfactory. I finally installed a Maltby Pro Series shaft in the HyWay and now this club really performs well for me. I have the Pro Series shafts in my irons & hybrids also. They seem to work well with my swing.
ode Ugh why did they do that goofy transition on the hosel, gives a semi-offset look...no bueno. GW has done that on some of theirs as well.
colej Hoss7504 Just a bit taller than my maltby Ke4 TC Tour. I’ll try to get a comparison picture tomorrow.
