FGS Plus vs Vision wood shafts

I’m gonna try these .335 shafts. Can anyone tell me the difference between them in how they play? Softer/firmer tips, that kind of thing. And how are they...

Found some more. I guess the 5s are not that uncommon. Made for shafts are running higher. See the Project X shaft that was made for the X Hot line, then eventually dumped on eBay etc.

In addition to the normal draws with these shafts, I get the occasional pull that is MILES left. When it happens I have a hard time believing that my swing was that bad. I haven’t wanted to blame the shafts. But deep down I knew that something was up.

And you tipped them??
What did the torque read after tipping?
(assuming you used new/full lengths for testing)

Par4QC I tested them full length. I haven’t tested a tipped one. I think the most I’ve ever tipped one is an inch.

In my experience the torque measurement won’t change much from minor tipping.

Par4QC I built one fairway wood with it that was terrible. I chalked it up to cheap shafts, pulled it and threw it away. I wish I still had it for testing.

DonM I never used them in FW heads, always just drivers. Have a lot of them, but never used any the last couple seasons.
I know the iron shafts were way too soft, so I pulled them last month. But, I may have tipped them wrong, somehow.

I would think that if you like "generally" how that shaft plays then the Grafalloy Prolaunch Supercharged Blue for $16.99 should be in that same arena. I installed one in a friend's Mizuno adapter and he has been pleased with it. They offer it down to senior flex.

DonM I think so. After I put the adapter on the shaft I swung the driver a few times and it felt decent..remember 2 flexes away from what I play. I wouldn't compare it to a high end Fujikura but I personally liked it.

I’m going to stick with the FGS plus for now. If I already knew another one that I liked, then I would change. But I don’t. Of course every time I miss a shot left it is gonna mess with my head.

Don as I had said months back for cheap filament wound with great specs and flexes, weights thru the line I don't think you can find better than Swing Science 200/400 Series L/A/R/S. Their quality is top notch and won't kill the wallet. One can match their club head speed, tempo, transition time and release with these good shafts. I keep using them for years now and haven't found any better overall.

scotts33 I need to ask them for an account. They can only say no. The 400 series sounds like a good starting point.
