pellmell
I’ve seen their videos. They put up a generic pro swing with an amateur swing. Problem is I can’t physically do most of what a pro does.
Here’s what I can do though.
I don’t want a lot of movement lateral or otherwise. I’m a turn in a barrel guy (Percy Boomer, Harmon III). I also want to keep my head still (Jack Nicklaus).
I’m a hands / arms guy (Jones, de la Torre, Flick). My right elbow does move behind me and my elbow’s separate too much, but I get my right elbow back to my side before impact (Penick).
My left arm bends too much, but a straight left arm isn’t a prerequisite for a good swing (Calvin Peete).
My ass stays back and my hips don’t thrust towards the ball (early extension / goat humping). I get into a pretty neutral position at the top, not laid off or across the line.
And I now get the shaft in line with my right elbow (shallow) before I release the club. The point is I can only do what I’m physically able to do. Like many stiff jointed 68 year old plus golfers. lol
All these things I mentioned I now do without conscious thought. My only swing thought is basically tempo.
Again, appreciate the lines and to my eyes they look fine to me. Everyone has swing faults. All we can do is try to mitigate the ones that are really a problem.
