They do have a say in what is said on the broadcast.
The powers that be along with the help of Tom Watson caused the 'self banning' of former CBS broadcaster Gary McCord for using the term bikini wax describing the greens and body bags describing hitting it behind a green.
But I doubt they have a say in how the tournament is covered and who they show on the broadcast.
