I really hate going into that place. I used to go there just for the cheap every day motor oil prices, but currently I either try to time Napa sales or Costco. There is nothing I need there and I feel better not sharing the space with sponge bob slipper wearing nut jobs!

Typhoon I installed a new battery in a Wal-Mart parking lot once, but that's about the limit of the "wrenching" I will do outside of my garage. I tip my hat to this guy.

Par4QC I was excited to receive the free harbor freight bucket until I remembered that we toss several hundred a week at work. One thing I will never have to buy is a 5 gallon bucket.

Eguller Yes a few of the auto parts stores around here will replace the battery which is great, but I find you can usually get a less expensive (but good) battery at WalMart. Plus I know 2 mechanics I trust and 1 is my brother.

More and more often batteries are in spots that are more difficult to replace. Auto parts stores won't touch these. My Escape is one of those. You have to remove the entire cowl covering to get to the battery.

Birdsboro Had I saved all the buckets we threw away in all the years at work, I would have been able to open a 'Crocs' factory, using recycled plastic.🤣

I still have many, along with the lids.

azgreg Yeah they won't touch my car as battery is in the trunk and not easy to get at. Not sure they would touch my wife's car as there is a whole plastic shroud to remove, then air intake before you can get near battery. I would charge extra for that labor.
