ode Yes, Pirate Ship is easy but I learned a hard lesson the other day shipping the COSTCO clubs to PapaD. Bought a long box from UPS, used the dimensions on the box with Pirate ship, and sent it via UPS. 4 clubs for roughly $13 plus the box.
I did not measure the box, nor did the UPS store I dropped it off with. After PapaD had the clubs Pirate Ship sends me an email telling me UPS added a $12.75 surcharge because UPS said the box was 2 inches longer than the dimensions on the UPS box. After many calls, UPS finally explained that boxes change sizes during shipping, something due to damage. They agreed if they damage a box I will be charged more someday down the road. UPS admitted tape should not add 2 inches to any box and that "maybe" the box listed dimensions are from the "inside" but could not confirm. All this from UPS without ever talking to anybody who spoke good English. They were always pleasant in their denial of my extra charge. I do appreciate that part.
Pirate Ship could care less as they kept shrugging their shoulders and said to contact UPS. Told both UPS and Pirate Ship I'm not paying and since my good friend PapaD sent me photos post the arrival of the box, told them I'm not paying. They said too bad for me.
My good friends at CITI took it off with1-click of my Trackball. I will measure and demand UPS measure next time.π
