Very good condition. Normal bag chatter. No excessive face or sole wear. Original loft and lie. See pic description. Original ferrules intact and in very good shape. DTG midsize velvet grips in great shape. $100 CONUS.

I always laugh when there is talk of the 'jacked' lofts. If people look at these specs, they will see there are no jacked lofts, when comparing club lengths. The only thing that has really changed is the lie angle, as far as specs go.

Also, we complain about the costs of today's clubs; even in a thread today, when people are out there making 50-80K/yr. without doing anything.
This set new was $222....almost 50 yrs. ago. When a person was well off making that much in a week. Pre tax.

My monthly take home pay in 1973 after taxes, union dues and medical insurance was $350. Schoolteacher making $7200/year. Worked in a motorcycle shop on weekday afternoons and Saturdays, played in a band weekend nights to supplement. I think I paid $150 for my Wilson Blue Ridge Sam Snead irons. Seemed like a fortune.

Thanks. Back then I was in high school and my parents got me a new set of these for Christmas. They did me well. Wilson was very popular back then. Probably the Callaway of its day.

BTW this set, standard, is 3° weaker per club than my 2009 Cobra forged S2 set that I currently play. And my Cobra's are +3/4" in length each too. Two club difference in distance between the two for me.

Well, in 1973 I was working part-time at a muni pro shop after school and on weekends. If I recall correctly (big if), my hourly pay was $1.75.

I took them out to the range a couple of weeks ago for a small bucket. Brought back some wonderful memories of 50 years ago, but at the same time had me chuckling a bit about today's technology.

BackNine29 Did your Dad get the irons through the Pro Shop? iirc, they couldn't be bought in stores like the Blue Ridge irons could be.
The buttons are for swing weighting purposes. not for looks.

Yes. A set was on display in the shop with a few other brand sets, such as the Spalding Elite MV2 (another love). I don't remember the price. I do remember the set no longer there one-day and then when I got my set I figured out where the set must have gone. Back then the muni shop did not move a lot of iron sets.

At 12-years old my dad took me to JC Penny to get me a boxed set of Northwestern Byron Nelson irons, 3-9. Had the flat reminder grip.

Those would be great companions for the circa 1971 bullet back Dynapower irons I bought earlier this year, but I'm too weak for stiff shafts anymore.

I played Wilson Staff irons back then, too, but not this model. I played the Tour Blades.

Yours is a nice-looking set.

Wilson Tour Blades were "too big" for me back then, but a friend had a set. They were sweet.
