DonM I've used this stuff for 50 years. Best shaving cream out there. Anyone here use it? They've changed the scent this year, and it smells like chemicals. On to Barbasol I suppose.
Taki27 DonM I think it has to do with taking out the Lanolin (that comes from sheep) and replacing it with different chemicals to make the cream soften your skin. Remember when we used to use shaving cream to break in baseball gloves, well it was the lanolin that did it. Good luck finding lanolin now. I wanted to soften my sons hockey gloves because they dried out from so much use and I couldn’t find any shaving cream with lanolin. I had to use nipple cream from Amazon. My wife looked at me funny when that came in. Worked pretty well though.
Walterjn I gave up on all foam in a can years ago... When I was still using disposable razors, I started dry shaving. After that I tried electric. About 10 years I started using a straight razor, and I went with the brush, and soap. I haven't used anything from a can in close to 25 years...
Rickochet My dad was a barber and actually did straight razor shaves. He had a hot shaving cream machine that had a very nice smell. I a few years ago I found Gillette shaving mousse and it smells just like the cream that came from my dad's machine. It got hard to find a few years ago so I hoarded a bunch but finally ran out so I just use a cheapie barbasol with a badger brush and cup. I have never liked electric razors, gel cream or cream in the tube like Creamo. The listing I show is a bit steep for one can. There is another link for 12 cans for $52. I don't know why this stuff is so expensive and hard to find.
Par4QC Never use it. Have had/used electric shavers since 7th grade; in fact still have that one. My Dad always used the ol' brush with the round soap in a cup, much like barbershops used back then. But he always used the double-sided razors.
Rickochet Par4QC My Dad always used the ol' brush with the round soap in a cup, much like barbershops used back then. My dad went to a barber college back in the early fifties to get his license and he told me that they had to shave a balloon with a straight razor. 😁
[deleted] No foam for me. Shaving cream, soap, brush and a double edge safety razor with replaceable blades. I got tired of expensive multi edge cartridges clogging a long time ago.
Walterjn [deleted] I found that to be the biggest pain...the expensive multi blades clogged way too easily, and there was no real way to unclog it without manually cleaning them. I spent more than I wanted to on blades, so I started looking at long term solutions...

Same here! I find that the soaps out there provide a MUCH better lather and in addition, you get a hot shave! Face feels great after one of these shaves!
rsvman2 I switched to brush and either lathering creams or soaps back in 2009. Switched to replaceable blade straight razors in 2019. Don't care about any of those canned foams at all.
Rickochet Years ago prepping for a vasectomy I was required to shave my sack. I takes a real man to do that with a straight razor. 🤣

Subsonic Whatever Barbasol is on sale. Have tried many different brands/styles over the years. I have a beard, so I am only using a Schick Disposable and Barbasol. No time for anything else. For the sack, Bar Soap and a disposable is fine.
Spartan I use an electric razor. My skin is pockmarked from acne as a teenager. If I tried a regular razor I'd be bleeding most days.
rsvman2 Taki27 I think it is still in the yellow can Barbasol, but don't quote me on it. They took it out because a small percentage lf people have allergic reactions to it. They probably got sick of all the complaints. There are still a lot of shaving soaps that contain it.
