No suprises really. He's comparing loft so with my new irons the 9 iron goes as far as my Eye2 8 iron...thats expected. For me though, the Eye 2 spins to much so its more like a 1.5 club difference.
Shaft length... the Ping eye 2 will have a longer shaft length at the same loft as a newer Ping G because its 6 vs. 7 iron.
The forgiveness part besides the weighting etc... is you are more accurate with a shorter shaft length for the same launch angle/degree head.
I played my Eye 2's for 30 years. Difference with the new Ie-1 is I'm more accurate and 1.5 clubs longer so I am more accurate with the shorter length iron.
