We got a rice cooker as a gift and I used it to make a side dish of just white rice last night and it could not be easier. Pour rice and water in, push 1 button and you have perfectly cooked rice in short order with no sticky pot to clean. It stops the cooking process and keeps the rice warm with no programming required.
We're going to make shrimp jambalaya tonight in this new toy! It steams veggies or meat too.
