DonM Maybe propose the rope fence to the HOA as a limited time test. They should be interested in finding something that works.
Eguller sdandrea1 the repeated harassment might work and it's a good run/romp for Sophie. There is your answer - Sophie. Border Collie worked at our course years ago. We need the dog again. 🤨
sdandrea1 DonM Are you allowed to put in a short rabbit fence by your patio? Anything will help. Zero fencing allowed on golf course lots. I might shoot one with my pellet rifle and leave the body down near the pond. 🤬
garyt1957 Subsonic is that how that works? I had no idea. Yea, if you can get close enough to put a collar on them you might as well just wring their neck and be done with it
Subsonic garyt1957 yeah. When the collar goes over the fence the collar gives the dog a touch of old sparky.
Par4QC There is a repellant that can be sprayed on the yard. Geese eat a lot of grass per day, and after they eat from this sprayed grass, they get bad heartburn, without causing injury. They might come back again, but soon learn to stay out.
Par4QC backinit But, geese only eat up about 2# of grass/day. That, might 'eat up' just a tad more. 🤣
Rickochet One of our courses had a shit lode of geese that congregated near a lake. One of my buds was trying to hit his second shot after driver over the lake but had a large flock of geese in the fairway in front of him. He tried to chase them away but had no luck so he decided to go ahead and hit. He sculled a screaming worm burner that clocked one of the geese in the side of the head and he dropped like a rock. The flock ran for their lives and for years never gathered on that area again.
Par4QC As a humane suggestion, have you posted any "No Geese Allowed" signs, which are much more specific than those awkward reading "No Trespassing" signs, which can oftentimes lead to misunderstandings?
