Bingo. Well said. This is why I enjoy the commentary on the DP World Tour - in the spirit of Johnny Miller,
etc they are not afraid to tell it like it is with color.

I like some milk toast if they just mouthing facts, stats of the game.
On the other hand, the announcers like Nantz, who dramatizes just about everything, no comment.

KCee Brandel is the Stephen A. Smith of golf. I don't mind him though.
Many years ago I used to listen to Sports talk radio while driving for work on Saturdays and they had guest hosts on the national show that were just local guys filling in. Our local guy was one. Anyway Stephen A was one and he was nothing like the guy you see today. He was quiet and well reasoned. Somewhere along the way he learned that being loud and controversial was a way to get noticed nationally. And it worked. He now makes millions a year. Branded knows the same. He has no real cache as a former player as his record can't hold a candle to guys like David Duval. He needs to be controversial to keep from getting replaced. I don't blame him a bit

I do feel he knows the game as well as anyone, but sure I'd rather listen to Duval's opinion about what it takes to win a major.....Chamblee can certainly corroborate what not to do. His opinions generally seem to be very well informed, but at times his harsh criticism seems to be just for effect. I suppose if you don't love or hate him then he's not doing his job right

Duval was very good. One of my golf buddies lived next door to the Duval's. His son and David Duval were good friends growing up.

eltigrecda There have been professional golf tournaments in Saudi Arabia, China and host of other Asian countries with dubious and downright atrocious human rights records for decades - and the PGA Tour was (and still is) perfectly fine with that.
But as soon as a tour starts that threatens to compete with the PGA Tour and does not pay the proper "deference" to the PGA Tour, they pull out the hammer and use the "human rights" card as the reason! Are you serious? This is about money and basically blackmailing players to get rid of competition and nothing else

Agree, the PGA is using people (like Sneaky) who are really dead set against SA being part of LIV. They're fanning that outrage for all they can as suddenly they've had a change of opinion and "Saudi's bad". But they weren't so bad before they were actual competition to the Tour. Height of hypocricy.
