GOLF SHOE QUESTION AND A BRIEF RANT

So, the other day my friend and I played a round of golf and the bottom of my golf shoes (Adidas 360 Tour) self-destructed on the right heel. Looking for a new Adidas 360 Tour and found that they (Adidas) no longer have them with removable spikes. And they no longer have the 360 series, either.
I am now considering the Adidas ZG21.

Now the question---does anyone know what spike insert system these shoes have, e.g., PINS, Q-lock, Fast Twist, etc.? I don't like the spikes that come with the new shoes and want to replace them, upon purchase, with some Champ Stinger Scorpions.

Now the brief rant---In what world does Adidas think it best to put in a non-removable spike in their golf shoes that are not spikeless. Maybe technology and times have passed by me.

Any comments or enlightenment would be appreciated. Please set me straight on this.

No idea on which spike, but definitely try them before you buy. My golf buddy bought the ZG 21 when they first came out and gave up on them quickly. He felt they weren't comfortable enough even when he rides in a cart.

I have an old pair of the 360 Tours, great shoes, but the new Adidas do not fit the same as they used to. Definitely, try before you buy. I made the switch to Foot Joy, they are very comfortable. I would have looked at others, but the deal I got was absolutely insane, I’m not a huge fan of the look, but my feet are happy at the end of the round.

To your complaint, I don’t get it either, spikes wear out, they should be replaceable. I went through 3 sets not including the factory set in my 360s and honestly, they are still good enough to wear, I just wanted something new. I will be replacing the spikes in them again and using them in rotation. Mine must have a couple hundred rounds on them at minimum, I have had them for over 10 years at this point.

Yeh, my old 360 Tours were very comfortable out of the box. Will definitely try before buying the ZG21s.

I went spikeless about 5 or 6 years ago and I am not ever going back.

I have 2 pair of spikeless shoes but I think I get better ground contact and push-off from spikes.
For me, I wear spikeless when I want a quick transition from the car to the cart.

Tiger wouldn’t wear Nike at the Masters and he’s their main guy. He wore traditional Foot Joys. I bought a pair of Foot Joy Traditions last season and I’m sold on them. Played almost every week this winter and my feet where warm and dry, plus they offer a wide width.

I thought the Pure 360 were fab. Fit great, wore well, waterproofing was super (worn many times in the a.m. dew), and looked good. Only complaint was they were heavy, which is not a huge deal, but for someone who mostly walks, it makes a difference. Still have a pair of the gripmore's.

I stopped buying "golf" shoes a few years ago. I moved to hiking shoes with soles designed for climbing, rock climbing, maximum traction and vibram soles. I have two pair that are waterproof and two pair that are designed as "beathable" or summer wear. All of mine are Merrell, but there are other brands with excellent quality. Far better quality, great support and comfort, excellent styles and color choices and shoes that wear like iron with the gentle terrain and grasses of a golf course. I have noticed my shoes do not leave the same imprints on the greens aggressive golf shoes do. However, these shoes have soles that are designed for maximum traction for all conditions, including wet surfaces, etc.

I look for close out models and find them at very discounted pricing. However, I have a Zappos outlet store in my area.

It is funny you mentioned Merrell. I quit wearing golf shoes about two years ago and wear a pair of Merrell shoes that are probably 10 years old. My issue with weak knees is lateral stability and support. These old Merrell shoes do the job on and off the course. Two weeks ago I bought another set of Merrell shoes from Amazon.

I think I have my problem solved for now. I am going to use shoe glue (goo) to re-glue the heel back onto the base of the shoe. Hope it works. That will postpone my purchase of new shoes.

Last year got a pair of skechers (laceless) shoes. Talk about lazy😂. Anyhoo, they have soles that resemble snow tires. Great for golf even though they arent very stylish and track dirt everywhere.
