PA-PLAYA
Your situation is almost a mirror image of mine. My wife was 1 hell of an athlete in high school. Softball, volleyball and basketball, 4 year letterman/woman at all 3 and several All League selections. She still plays volleyball even though she can hardly walk for days after each match. She's very committed to what she does and is 1 of the best. Her downfall with golf was her extreme competitiveness and how humbling golf can be. She's been to the driving range 1 time and "couldn't hit the damn thing" as she put it so she had no desire to try again. I look at it this way, it's our time away from each other, but I've told her numerous times I wish she'd get back up on the horse and give it another shot to no avail. Does cause "problems" when i want to sit down and watch golf now because she has no desire to even watch and complains whenever I have it on so I mostly DVR and watch later. She does love NFL football, Major League Baseball & Professional tennis so I can live with that I reckon. Sad thing is, my daughter, now 11 has the same attitude about it even though I started taking her to the course and range with me when she was 2. At, about, the age of 7 was the last time she went to hit balls with me and when she struggled, she wanted no more a part of it. I will say this, my daughter does like to get up early and go to work with me on the weekends to set up the course. I'm responsible for the Sunday morning setup on 1 9 of our 27 hole course. She does it because she wants to not because I make her.....oh and the $5 I give her when she does. She's motivated by $$$.....go figure.
