I joined FGI in 2002 and knew Tlkerer and Persimmon but not the others. I think Mickeygoo had an animated gif avatar that drove me nuts with Mickey winking. Cliff and Tom spent a lot of time trying to keep the FGI ship upright. Tell them Rickochet said hi.

Nick/Gwog started his own forum, but after not too long, it kinda went flat and now I see it's gone. "Golfdope" was it's name.

Could be, I forgot all about that. I remember the good times. I learned a ton about building clubs on that site. I miss Tim Hewitt being in the golf business.

There was a huge flaming thread involving SMT and Accuflex and five of us got called out as the "bad apple five." I miss Tim and the MyOstrich website also. I had the pleasure of playing golf once with him at Persimmon Ridge in Louisville along with RangerX and CoachSB.

Still don't remember what the kerfuffle was. I slowly lost interest with so many trolls.

Tim, user name, thewit, knew more about club building than anyone and shared his knowledge with all. Last I heard he was writing books but that was a few years ago.

That is probably true. Kind of like my golf group. A few years back we could get 4 foursomes together for a group skins game on any day. Today we struggle to get one foursome. 👴
