Super League Predictions

Interesting, but PGA Tour reaction would probably be same as they have done to Trump owned courses…Not play there…Plus, I doubt they could get a majority of members at the private clubs that hold the Tournaments to agree to sell out to the Saudi’s…

Par4QC A lot of talk about how the LIV guys were going to be a distraction to the beloved U.S. Open, and who has been doing all the 'distracting'?
and this is precisely why I added to my last post.
As I stated before, no reason to pick a side, but the PGA execs and their minions are making it difficult not to..
It tells me that there is a lot more to the supposed "rumours" and the floodgates are opening.
The DP Tour allowing LIV players into the German Open may be another indication there is no point in putting sanctions and suspensions on the players. They may end up with "weak fields" every week, instead of playing "against the best".
Just a Spuzzmusing or two.
raggmann54 Plus, I doubt they could get a majority of members at the private clubs that hold the Tournaments to agree to sell out to the Saudi’s…
Eguller Like Pumpkin Ridge.
The pro left, but how many members have left too?
This could also be a hint as to whether your statement may be true or not
(I don't have the answer)
What’s the over/under in years for existence of the LIV tour?
I’ll say 3.5.
This thread is going to get 1000+ posts? I haven't even opened it in a while. What is left to say?
No comment about Nicklaus designing a course in Riyadh. Hypocrisy is an interesting thing that hypocrites never understand. Hard to understand why people care so much, the PGA Tour has always had players comment about the lack of transparency and now some moved on, they are bad guys.
Bravopilot Hypocrisy is an interesting thing that hypocrites never understand.
Profound.
raggmann54 they'd have to or go bankrupt
Of the 4 majors all but the Masters has qualification rounds that anyone who meets the qualifications and pay, can play. Now if these 3 don't somehow come up with a rule that won't accept an applications from someone who is playing on the LIV, these players can play themselves into three of the majors.
I would think resigning from the PGA nullifies any post suspensions that the PGA handed out.

Greg Norman has applied for LIV Golf players to get official world golf ranking points. There’s an 8 member committee that will decide with Jay Monahan being one.
Abe Ancer now on the rumoured LIV list.
Martee
Can you imagine the lawsuits if they are prevented from trying to qualify for those 3 Majors...

Why not ? Patsy schedule = patsy points.

Not sure how they get world ranking points when they need to play 72 hole events. Kinda throws the whole LIV title into question.

Damn.

Shocking...
Dig deeper - he’s been hooked up with them for a while. No shock.

So is Faldo gonna work LIV events? He’s tweeted he’s retiring. There seems to be some undercurrents though.

PGA Tour plans to counter rival tour with lucrative series for top players
"Starting next year, the fall portion of the PGA Tour schedule will include eight limited-field no-cut events, with $20 million purses each, for the top 50 finishers in the prior season’s FedEx Cup standings.
Those outside the top 50 will compete in an alternate series of tournaments, where they will fight to keep their cards and earn better status for the following season. This change in structure would happen in conjunction with the tour returning to a season based on the calendar year, something Golf Digest has reported was being considered. The tour switched from a calendar-based schedule to a wraparound campaign in 2013-14."
"Monahan did acknowledge that the LIV Golf series had applied for Official World Golf Ranking points. Whether they receive those will be up to the eight-person board of the OWGR, which includes Monahan, DP World Tour CEO Keith Pelley, along with representatives from the USGA, R&A, PGA of America, Augusta National Golf Club and the International Federation of PGA Tours. The OWGR board is chaired by Peter Dawson, the former CEO of the R&A."

(sorry for the crappy quote formatting. It's all from the article above.)
But let’s just say the organizations that compose the OWGR aren’t exactly friendly towards the LIV Tour. Here’s the list of the eight current members of the OWGR Board that will vote on whether LIV players get points:
Chairman – Peter Dawson, The R&A
Augusta National Golf Club - Buzzy Johnson
DP World Tour - Keith Pelley
International Federation of PGA Tours - Keith Waters
PGA of America - Seth Waugh
PGA TOUR - Jay Monahan
The R&A – Martin Slumbers
USGA – Mike Whan
Let’s break down how a few of those people feel about the LIV Tour, shall we?
Jay Monahan banned all LIV participants from playing on the PGA TOUR this morning.
Keith Pelley begged DP World Tour golfers not to play, and still might ban the ones that did.
Keith Waters works for the DP World Tour too.
Buzzy Johnson represents Augusta National, who traditionally invites all previous major winners to their club each year for the Masters ... but didn’t send LIV President Greg Norman his invite this year.
Seth Waugh has said LIV Golf isn’t “good for the game.”
It’s not all bad though: The USGA’s Mike Whan did allow participants that were previously exempt to play in the U.S. Open at Brookline next week.

Sneakylong That kind of shoots this statement in the ass, big time.......
Seth Waugh has said LIV Golf isn’t “good for the game.”
It appears that LIV Golf Tour is the absolute best thing that could have ever happened to the PGA Tour players.
Might be some now come back, asking for reinstatement, much like an Amateur can after turning Pro.
The 'sign up' money is not really that big of a draw for some. And now, may be even less of an attraction to the top collegiate players coming through. Sponsors will be looking for new names, to replace the old. If a few can grab $80M/yr. like Rory, there are no temptations for going LIV. It's why Rory can be so mouthy. Backing China instead of Saudi Arabia.
