Maugust789 My birthday is coming soon and I'm going to treat myself to a new pair of golf shoes. I've had several pairs of Adida's and they seem to wear out on the inside pretty quickly. My current Footjoys are comfortable and are holding up well. I'd be interested in your thoughts on brand or model experiences and preferences. Would like to stay with a spiked shoe unless someone knows of a spikeless that works in early morning dew conditions.
mikeintopeka I've had a pair of Footjoy Contours for two+ years now. I've worn them on the course but more often as my go-to casual jean and dressy shorts shoe because they are so comfortable. Grip? I haven't played in them under wet/morning dew conditions but I did wear them in a 1" snow with frozen dew on top to the end of the driveway to get my morning paper a couple of weeks ago and I was amazed at the traction. And, they have a 2 year waterproof warranty so Footjoy backs up their claim they are an all-weather shoe. https://www.tgw.com/golf-shoes/spikeless-golf-shoes/footjoy-mens-contour-casual-golf-shoes?CID=PLA&SITE_ID=A2004&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIlaaGxoG19QIV2BPUAR3f4AWZEAQYBCABEgJU4_D_BwE&testvar=testgroup
rsvman2 Big fan of True Linkswear, but they are not spiked. For me, they fit really well. Big wide toe box. Comfy right out of the box. They don't wear out quickly, either.
Tcafla Sqairz- no they don’t give you any extra yardage (that’s total BS) but they are ,for me, very comfortable and they are awesome for lining up putts to keep Your feet square.
Bravopilot I only buy Footjoy, they are great plus they have my size (8.5 3E) Before any comments, I am a big dick.
Hoss7504 Another vote for Footjoys. I have the superlite XPs (spikeless) and they have great grip. They're super light (get it?) And also water proof. I love all my Footjoys.
Sneakylong Ecco. Only golf shoes I own. Have several pair. I only use spike-less. Tee off only in the early morning in Florida. Plenty of dew on the grass. Have never slipped once. With Ecco the upper and lower are bonded together and will never separate.
Typhoon I have a pair of these Ecco's I got for my birthday. So comfortable. My first ever pair of non removable spike shoes and they were great, better than I imagined. I used them once then quit playing, probably end up selling them but I highly recommend them. Mine are the Biom Cool Pro. https://us.ecco.com/golf/men/biom/
Spartan I've been wearing Skechers for a couple of years. They seem to wear well and are comfortable.
ode If you have a store near you with good selection, go try everything on, walk around the store and see what fits your feet the best!
Walterjn Par4QC I wear vans most of the time when playing. Even while I have a pair of proper pair of golf shoes...
accufitgolf Years back I sold Foot Joy shoes. I learned some things about golf shoes: Have at least two pairs. Better of with 2 pairs of less expensive then one pair of expensive shoes. Keep wooden shoe trees in them. Wipe them down after playing. Rotate usage. Do the above and those two inexpensive pairs will last for years.
potbunker Footjoy for 30 years + Many options Only had one pair that did not exceed the waterproof guarantee. Replaced with no questions asked. Big fan of Classic leather. They will last FOREVER with shoe trees and rotating.
Nat I love adidas but they wear out so quickly for me. I moved to ASICS , and love them x100. They feel like running shows but stiffer more supportive sole. I have one spineless and one spiked pair. Highly recommend
Maugust789 Pulled the trigger on some Puma Ignite Fasten 8's today. Tried Ecco, Footjoy, Skechers and they were okay. As a last resort I tried the Pumas and it was a clear winner for comfort and stability. Although spineless I've been assured they will be fine for my use.
garyt1957 azgreg How are they holding up? I bought a pair of Fresh Foam trainers and after a week the foam compressed on both outside heels and stayed that way. So now I walk uneven on them. I should have taken them back to see what they'd do for me. I can't wear them as is, but man were they comfortable early on. And it's not like I'm that big of a fat ass.
