The goodwill line is what Paul Casey said in his defense of doing a 180 on playing in Saudi Arabia.
But, many believe that’s a weak argument. Heavy handed autocracies with human rights issues haven’t historically changed because of goodwill.
But yeah, if Paul and other ‘goodwill ambassador’ golfers plan on meeting and expressing their displeasure with the King, that would be a step in the right direction.
Don’t see that happening though. Since it didn’t happen last year. I agree with this guy’s assessment below from last year. Like the term ‘sportswashing’ away terrible human rights abuses.
