Yeah, not looking for a debate either. Just giving my opinion. I like democracies warts and all. Look at our history regarding human rights. It’s fraught with all kinds of subjugation, discrimination and civil rights abuses.
But in the end (so far anyway) we’ve moved forward expanding human rights. We all have our line in the sand. I’m fully aware of the duplicity with our relations with China opposed to Cuba.
The world is messy and complicated. I wonder if Hong Kong regrets separating from the UK? I’m sure many do.
So to answer your question. Yes to Australia. Australia has it’s issues with the native peoples etc., but it’s a democracy.
Again, everyone has their line. Countries that favor democracy over autocracies with bad human rights policies is basically my line.
