Since when did soft drinks become as expensive as liquor?

$2.29 for a small Dr. Pepper at Burger King this afternoon. 😦 I can get a draft beer at happy hour at some local restaurants for $2 each. So not only does soda kill you like cigarettes, but they are charging out the ass for it. Time to stop buying sodas with fast food meals. Total ripoff.

To me the weirdest thing is that a gallon of gasoline is sometimes cheaper than a gallon of bottled water.

The Mrs. and I stopped by Wendy's for lunch this past weekend and purchased from the "dollar" menu. When it came to the drink selection, we got a small for each because of the free refills. Our bill came to $5.28....I was told seniors get free drinks with meal purchase...

Now "Officially" Old....

Me: $2.30?? Are you kidding me? Is this refillable?
Cash register lady: Yes, come back as many times as you want!
Me: Cool. I'll brink it with me when I return tomorrow.

If they gave you 1/3 off your golf prices, you would have been tweaking those numbers on the ID years ago haha. If it makes you feel better, I would have never guessed you were even near that, outside of you giving me these "20 year younger" excuses 😝. With Common Core math, I believe that only makes you 38 anyway, so it's all good!

Had dinner with the wife tonight. The drafts were $2. The coke's were $2. I don't do diet soda, can't stand the taste. So what do I choose... I went with the healthier option, for the same price. Coors Light.

Ya gotta shop. All the Shell stations near me in FLA have Polar Pop fountains - all sizes are $.79. Sonic sells all size soft drinks for $.99 until 11AM. Many McDonald's sell a large soda for $.99. Most sit-down restaurants are rip-offs, so I get about 4 free refills to drive the price/ounce down - including one in a to-go cup.

Try to minimize the refined sugar / corn syrup in your diet. You will play more golf if you do.
I used to drink soft drinks instead of water when I was younger. All the free refill at school and fast food joints. Now I have maybe a handful of soft drinks each year. It saved my golf game and the ability to do a lot more other things in life.
Last but not least, you will live longer.
