Walking COURSE: Royal Oaks Golf Course Generally when I play golf I play with at least one other person and we ride around in a cart. After joining Royal Oaks as a walking member I knew I’d be playing by myself more and would be walking. Tonight I walked/played the front nine at Royal Oaks and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I felt more relaxed by the time I got to my ball and was completely content listening to nature. Of course there’s another very important thing about walking the course…it’s great exercise.
Goodbye golf cart, hello turf.0 comments -

Eliminated :( COURSE: Royal Oaks Golf Course On Thursday my Dad and I were eliminated from the playoffs. We had a nice season and more importantly were able to bond as father and son.
Our opponents in the quarterfinals didn’t show up on time so we patiently waited. Once they showed up we were behind a slow group (the winner of the match in front of us would be our opponents…if we had won) and day light was fading before our eyes. We entered our last hole all square and my Dad and I had poor tee shots. We ended up using my ball from the fairway on an adjacent hole. I felt like that second shot I hit well, but after searching for the ball in the darkness we had to use my Dad’s ball that was under a tree. I tried punching the ball out and landed the ball in the bunker and my Dad punched his and it landed well short of the green. Once we reached the green we bogeyed and our opponents parred the hole. I used my new clubs for the first time and found out I should practice with them a bit more. lol.
I’m looking forward to next golf league season and the many driving range balls I’ll hit before then. -

New Clubs! My Dad and I play in a summer golf league and we played well enough to sneak into the playoffs. We played in the first round (round of 16) last Thursday and came out on top 5 holes to 4. The league format is 2 vs. 2, best ball format, and matches are played on nine holes at a few local courses. Tomorrow night (Sept. 18) we play our quarterfinal match against a team we lost to 5-4 during the regular season.
I’m extremely excited about going to the driving range tonight and playing the match tomorrow because last night I purchased brand new Cobra ‘08 S9 irons! I had actually bid on the same set of irons on eBay and was high bidder up until one minute before the auction closed. When I was outbid I was at Dick’s Sporting Goods looking at the S9 irons. Call it impulsive shopping, but I NEEDED those clubs!
My profile lists the specifics plus lists the fairway wood and hybrid I will be receiving on Friday from golfsmith.com. 3 1/2 hours until I can use them for the first time!!!0 comments
