  • A little bit about me, for those of you who haven't figured it out......

I'm a very diverse person in music, friends and family. I have a Bi-racial family for those of you who do not know. I don't claim a political or religious label. Only reason I'm posting this is I want you to know something about me, before you judge me.

This country song pretty much explains it.....

"As the maid poured wine and we prepared to dine
I knew I was feelin' out of place
At a table as large as a river barge
And "I love you" written all on your face

I appreciate you hospitality
But I wish that we would go
Let me drive us to McDonald's and I'll talk to you
Concernin' somethin' you should really know

I'm just a common man, drive a common van
My dog ain't got a pedigree
If I have my say, it gonna stay that way
'Cause high-browed people lose their sanity
And a common man is what I'll be

I'll take a Chevrolet just any day
So give your Daddy back his Mercedes Benz
And there's some common people that I hang out with
They're my good time buddies, they're my friends

And I'd rather chug-a-lug a mug of Budweiser Beer
Than sip a crystal glass of wine
So won't you make your mind up to believe in me
And leave this high livin' world behind

I'm just a common man, drive a common van
My dog ain't got a pedigree
If I have my say it's gonna stay that way
'Cause high-browed people lose their sanity
And a common man is what I'll be

And I'm happy just being free
And I'm happy just being me
And I hope that you will see

I'm just a common man, drive a common van
My dog ain't got a pedigree
If I have my say, it gonna stay that way
'Cause high-browed people lose their sanity
And a common man is what I'll be"

mcavoy man i was just funnin' w/ya in the bacon thread. beautiful family tho..😉

Oh I know, I didn't take it any other way Brother. I just figure there are some folks here that should know what and who their dealing with and want them to see a little of the shoes that I walk in. I don't want to be a stranger. In case they haven't noticed, I don't hide behind the keyboard or try not to, unlike some. just how I am I reckon. I never claim to be the sharpest knife in the drawer and am lost at times, but I feel what I feel. I can't always express it like some others, but hope folks get the point. I feel alot better for posting this too btw. You just helped me figure out how I wanted to go about it.

CHEERS! I'll buy ya one of them there Irish beers if we ever meet!

LB your post calls to mind a good friend of mine who is a farmer and also owns a manufacturing company of produce handling and processing equipment. About 20 years ago we went fishing on a small southern lake with Cypress trees. It was early morning, the sun was rising with an orange glow and shimmering across the mirror of the calm water, I had cut the motor and we were drifting toward a stand of trees to begin the day. My friend facing forward and it became obvious he completely forgot I was in the boat by his startled reaction when I started to laugh, when he said in a clear sincere voice with his head titled upward, "thank God I am country boy!"

It was a moment I have never forgotten.

Ain't no judge here my Son.

They, your grand-babies have had the Love and understanding of Your Family. Nothing different than the People who walked before You in Your Family and accepted You and Your siblings.

    All additions, all Family.

    Lucky ... Lucky ...

Landon, Man I love you and I don't even know you. You call them like you see them and I can tell you're as honest as the day is long. I guess it's because of your transparency that shows your honesty. I've not gotten together with a lot of you guys but I sure would love to more. The last couple of years have been tough on me and I've missed some opportunities for fellowship with my brothers. I sure hope you, Pat, Steve, Bob, Brian and others can get together sometime this summer. Play a little golf and hang out. Prayers for you and your family (a good looking family!) and I hope to meet you in person soon! Tim

Very few people you can call at any hour and just talk about shit. LB is that guy.

It's a shame we live so far apart....my life would be better having Landon close by.

Typhoon Very few people you can call at any hour and just talk about shit. LB is that guy.

Yes. And he also knows that it works 24/7 conversely.

If it's Landon on the line, it gets answered due to understanding, unless unfortunately this Old Man has gone to bed.

Nice family - beautiful! Ummmmm, you left out pics of your uncle...........................

          8*)

LBlack14 Love! that tune Aaron! Thanks!
As tough as it sometimes will seem .

As the chalkboard in the video says ...

            "Patience is A Virtue".

Landon is most definitely one of the most honest and humble men I've ever had the opportunity of knowing, even if we've never met. I went through a rough time with my wife's family just over five years ago, and he just spent close to three hours bullshitting with me about any topic we could come up with, getting my mind off everything that was bothering me. At that point, I just needed someone to hear me out, and LB stepped up to the plate. (Our brother Rales did the same thing, hours at a time).
