  Around this time last year I was going on about how Japan's Ai Miyazato would be the next big thing on the LPGA and how big an impact it would have on golf in Japan. Now I'm back at it, only this time it's Julieta Granada that's got my attention. <img alt="julieta_granada1.jpg" src="http://www.bogeylounge.tv/images/julieta_granada1.jpg" width="175" height="288" align="right" vspace="10" hspace="10" class="imgborder" /> Julieta was a rookie on the LPGA last year, earned $1.6 million dollars including the first ever $1million prize in women's golf history... more importantly, she became the first ever Paraguayan-born player to win on the LPGA tour. <br> Why is that important? Paraguay only has 6 golf courses and today with the help of Julieta and her playing partner Celeste Troche won the Woman's World Cup. <br> Granada was a rookie on the LPGA Tour last year, and she asked how she could get into the World Cup.   If it works, they will play it. That seems to be the overwhelming response. I must say, the Hi-Bore was a tough sell for me, but this seems to be the next wave. I may have more aof a prblem with the sound than the look. If it goes long and goes straight, it can be a small persimmon or a square VW for all I care. I am sure the masses will follow, especially when it makes it’s way into the bags of top pro’s. Nike is on pace also, yes? What about TM? Thanks for sharing. Post some photos when they come round.

  I’ve just read a piece in one of the British golf mags and they had amateuers testing the square headed driver…all of them loved the result, if not the asthetics. Straighter drives from one & all and the single hdcp guys said they got 10-15yds extra. I better start catching up on all of this stuff as I only switched from my old persimmon 4 years ago! Looking forward to seeing the first one on the Old Course next season, must remember to keep digi camera in my pocket.

  OK, OK, we flew across the pond to complain that the Euros made more putts….that is what golf is all about right? However, we cannot forget these very same guys (with Freddy and DLIII) won a great President’s Cup last year. And that World team was no slouch. With Wier, Vijay, the Goose, KJ Choi, Adam Scott, Big Easy and more, you could they have many more accolades than the Euro team. All I am saying is that the boys did not get the job done as they did last year, and there seems to be no rhyme or reason why other than they were outplayed I will say they sure looked liked they were not having any fun. I would much rather see hugs than fist bumps. Congrats to the Euros!
